This afternoon the doorbell rang. I asked Tommy, "Who's at the Door?" He became very excited and while galloping toward the front door he exclaimed, "Pizza's here!" Not like we have it delivered nightly, but perhaps we should cut back on the Dominos? :) They really do say the darnedest things.
Also, the other week I gave Tommy a cup of applesauce with his breakfast. I looked away for a mere moment and the applesauce found its way to the floor. I told Tommy, "Oh no! There's applesauce everywhere!" then went about cleaning up the mess. Didn't think much of it, really. Flash forward to reading "Goodnight Moon" before his afternoon nap yesterday. He really loves this story and has fun repeating the lines back to me as we go. I'm sure you've all read it at one time or another, but as a refresher the final line of the book is "Goodnight noises everywhere." I turn to the last page and before I can read what's written, Tommy says with delight, "Applesauce everywhere!" What a good memory he has! The associations kids can make at this age are truly amazing to me.
