Tommy wants a hippopotamus for Christmas! 
So, no smiles this year...but before he freaked out, he told Santa all about what a good boy he's been and gabbed about the toys he wants for Christmas. And Mommy snapped this cute shot:

Tommy hugs a whale at the Pacific Whale Foundation gift shop. We went on a whale watching excursion with the foundation and saw several whales in the channel. Tommy enjoyed a few, then took a snooze on his first boat ride.
This is actually Tommy's second boat ride the next day: goofing around on the Lanai Ferry.
Feeding Mommy a goldfish at Haleimaile General Store, one of the best restaurants at which Mommy & Daddy have ever dined. A must go if you're on the island!
Tommy snoozes on Mommy's bed at the Sheraton Ka'anapali. I tried to wake him by tickling his toes, but he was so tired even that didn't work! So I was able to clip his toenails without waking him, a chore he usually fights tooth and toenail. 
Tommy poses on the balcony of our timeshare. He managed to throw only one toy car from our fourth floor room into the lush greenery below. He's been a little tough to get a smile out of lately, at least for the camera.

This Thanksgiving was a very special, albeit unconventional, one. We celebrated with Thanksgiving "lunch" at Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Cindy's house before departing for Maui that evening. Here Tommy enjoys pumpkin pie in his pajamas before his first five-hour flight (on which he slept the majority...thank goodness!)
Tommy discovered a few of Mommy's Christmas decorations. Today he began playing with the newest animated snowman. He LOVES the penguins...one shakes his little tail to the music and it makes him giggle like crazy. He knows how to press the button to make the music play over, and over, and over, and over...you get it! 
Tommy here...I got my very first pair of slippers the other day! Look at how cool they are...I have not one, but TWO teddy bears on my toes! They keep my feet so snuggly warm on this chilly tile floor.
Tommy reached another milestone: 18 Months! Yesterday he celebrated by going to the doctor for a check-up...as you can see above, he did not want to be there. His growth has tapered off a bit, but he is now 32" tall and weighed in just over 25 lbs, though in recent days he's been closer to 27 lbs...his teeth are bothering him so he's not eating as heartily as usual. The doc gave us great news...no more check-ups 'til he's 2! That was music to Tommy's ears.
The first weekend in November we went on a scenic drive with Daddy's BMW Club to the Valley of Fire, which lies northeast of Las Vegas. Above Tommy poses with Mommy during a juice box break at the visitors' center.
Here we captured him running around in the rocks. He was in heaven, as he loves to pick up rocks and feel the different textures (and throw them...).
It's officially the silliest holiday of the year! Here the Wedewers pose for what will surely be an annual tradition: Mommy gets ridiculous costumes for everyone and makes her loved ones wear them for a few hours. The dog was spared this year, though if I'd found a St. Bernard keg costume it may have worked for a Hansel-and-Gretel-Meet-Oktoberfest theme? I won't leave you out next year, Kaya.
Tommy had a fun time trick-or-treating with Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Derick and some friends from our neighborhood. He received way more candy than a little boy needs, but he had fun collecting it and meeting new friends along the way
Halloween is here! Tommy's costume is Hansel Jr., as Mommy & Daddy are Hansel & Gretel this year. We'll have photos of the whole family in costume posted after the weekend.
This morning Tommy attended his first Halloween gathering for the year at his friend Olivia's house. This is a photo of the entire group trying to squirm out of their costumes.

Tommy took his second trip to Disneyland this weekend. This is funny to me, as I didn't make it to the magic kingdom until I was in high school! The Wedewer Three visited the park with Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Cindy and we had a truly memorable day.
